Data Architect
About the role
The Architect – Data Engineering role is a contract position based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will lead the design and architecture of enterprise-scale data, analytics, and AI solutions, collaborating with business leaders and engineering teams to drive strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include acting as the primary architectural authority, developing solution designs, leading architecture reviews, designing AI-enabled workflows, and ensuring best practices in data architecture and cloud engineering. The role requires significant experience in data architecture, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled solutions, as well as strong stakeholder engagement and mentoring abilities. Must have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, or senior Data Engineering roles.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with architectural ownership of enterprise-scale technology solutions.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles and scalable analytics platforms.
- Proven experience designing AI-enabled enterprise solutions.
- Experience with: Agentic Workflows , Large Language Models (LLMs) , Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) , Prompt Engineering , Context Engineering , Model Evaluation Frameworks
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Google Gemini Enterprise and/or Vertex AI will be a strong advantage.
- Experience operating within domain-driven or embedded architecture models.
- Familiarity with data mesh principles and data product operating models.
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise transformation environments.
- Exposure to AI governance, observability, and FinOps frameworks.
